New in the Store: Famous Author Prints

Local artist Robert Rivas paints wonderful, emotive portraits of famous artists, and he just did a limited edition of archival-quality giclée prints from his portraits, which we are fortunate to be carrying in the store.

The 8" x 10" and 9" x 12" -sized prints are great for hanging above your desk to inspire your writing endeavors. They would also make lovely gifts for writers or readers.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

Readers' Rights

Twitter, that fount of all, recently fed me an interesting list about the rights that go along with reading, which comes from Daniel Pennac's Better Than Life:

1. The right not to read.

2. The right to skip pages.

3. The right not to finish a book.

4. The right to reread.

5. The right to read anything.

6. The right to escapism.

7. The right to read anywhere.

8. The right to browse.

9. The right to read out loud.

10. The right not to defend your tastes.
